In a hospital in Montreuil, a suburb of Paris, a pilot project is being conducted where patients who have been previously excised undergo surgery to undo the excision. Bintou, a young woman from Mali and an excision victim had surgery a week ago. She has been living and working in France for ten years. 'I feel liberated from something. It's like a new life.' It was 'a bit of a revenge..when I was excised, they didn't ask me,' she adds.
