Description
"We were surprised by the identity of the perpetrators," says Stephen Koessler, CEO of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of French Guiana (CCIRG), which manages Cayenne airport. Despite the implementation of the "100% passenger control" system in October 2022 to curb the flow of cocaine from French Guiana to mainland France, it is from this airport that eleven former border police officers are accused of participating in a cocaine trafficking operation. They are appearing before the criminal court of Créteil for a trial expected to last several weeks. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
