Description
Construction crews in Washington DC begin removing the Black Lives Matter plaza, where a bright yellow mural was painted in front of the White House during the George Floyd protests, almost five years ago. The pedestrian zone covering two blocks was named "Black Lives Matter" Plaza to honor the resistence movement. "You can dig up concrete but you can't erase history," says Dianne Bradley, a DC resident who came to film the removal. "People from all around the world came to see this and to see it destroyed because of capitulating to Donald Trump is beyond insulting," says Kymone Freeman, another DC resident and activist.
