Gazans perform funerary prayers over the bodies of loved ones killed in Israeli strikes. Israel carried out its heaviest attacks since the start of the ceasefire overnight, with the health ministry in Hamas-run Gaza reporting more than 400 people killed. "Without the release of our hostages, Israel has no alternative but resuming military operations", Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said on X after the strikes, accusing Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas of rejecting an offer to extend the ceasefire's first phase that ended earlier this month.
