Five people were hospitalized after an active shooter situation at a New Albany warehouse Tuesday night, according to a city spokesperson. The spokesperson said there were at least 100 people inside the KDC/One facility at 8825 Smiths Mill Rd. North when the shooting occurred around 10:20 p.m. The company specializes in beauty, personal care and home care solutions, according to its website. The spokesperson said he could not confirm if anyone was in custody. Police are working on clearing employees out of the warehouse. A Mount Carmel spokesperson said three people were taken to Mount Carmel East, but did not have the condition of the victims. Dozens of law enforcement officers responded to the scene when the situation was unfolding. It's unclear if there was more than one shooter. Details on the suspect or suspects has not been released, but the spokesperson said they are not believed to be on site.
