Description
The latest drought monitor was released, and the new drought has worsened across the region. For context, right now 78% of Ohio has a moderate drought, which is a 17% increase from last week. 42% of Ohio has a severe drought, which is an 11% increase from last week. 24% has an extreme drought which is a 2% increase from last week. 8% has an exceptional drought, which is a 1% increase from last week.
Sunny and dry weather continues this weekend and through most of next week, with daily temps between 85-90°F and low humidity.
There may be a little bit more smoke this weekend, which may make the sky appear more hazy than normal! Keep in mind, this smoke is very high in the atmosphere and shouldn't affect air quality on the ground.
Long term, forecast models show no indication of any fall like temperatures or any wet weather in the next 8-14 days.
