Description
A Heat Advisory is in effect until 8pm on Friday.
Satellite and radar imagery shows lots of clouds out there this morning, which will hinder daytime heating to some extent.
Despite the cloud cover, temps still warm into the lower 90s. The big difference today compared to yesterday will be the increase in humidity. When it's too humid, sweating doesn't cool you off, and so it's important not to spent too much time outside.
The hottest days of the week will be Thursday-Saturday, as our heat dome will sit right on top of us. With high pressure aloft, the likelihood of rain and storms will be small later this week.
Also, as we approach the first day of summer on Thursday, keep in mind the sun angle is the highest it'll be all year. This means that a sun burn can occur in as little as 15-20 minutes or so.
Next week, long range models indicate cooler weather along with better rain chances. In fact, our next best chance of a few downpours comes on Sunday as an approaching front passes through the region.
