Now that spring has sprung and more people are out dining, shopping and traveling, it’s essential for businesses to focus on that spring refresh and a higher level of clean.
Celebrity Chef Michael Symon is a James Beard award-winning chef, restaurateur and a best-selling author who you may know from The Chew and Food Network shows like 24 in 24: Last Chef Standing and Symon’s Dinners – Cooking Out.
He joins our Laura Cavanaugh to explain the importance of a scientific clean for restaurants, hotels and businesses.
Symon has launched several successful restaurants in Cleveland, Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Philadelphia and beyond. He says cleanliness plays an instrumental role.
“Cleanliness always has to be the number one priority. I think it’s where everything starts,” said Symon. “Partnering with Ecolab and the Ecolab Science-Certified Program, it just takes it to the next level. It allows us to create an environment that our customers can trust, our staff can trust. It’s just the foundation of everything.”
Ecolab’s Scientific Clean requires science-based products and protocols, in-depth employee training and periodic audits by highly trained Ecolab specialists that focus on public health and food safety.
Look for the Ecolab seal and know that the establishment is certified clean. It gives customers peace of mind and your staff confidence and pride.
“Naturally it drives more people to the restaurant, which affects your bottom line,” said Symon.
Symon’s new culinary competition on the Food Network 24 in 24: Last Chef Standing has been a hit in its freshman season. It’s an extreme cooking show like no other with 24 talented chefs taking on 24 food challenges in 24 non-stop hours.
“It was an intense show to shoot, but we also had a great time doing it. And I think when you can mix those two things, you typically have a winner,” said Symon. “To me, it is the truest look of what it takes to be a chef of any show that I’ve been a part of or any show that I’ve even watched. The pressure, the sometimes exhaustion and being able to remain focused through that. That’s chef life.”
The winner will be revealed in the finale of 24 in 24: Last Chef Standing, which airs this Sunday on the Food Network.
