12-seed UC San Diego’s run in the NCAA Division I Basketball Championship came to an end on Thursday evening with the men’s team’s loss to 5-seed Michigan, 68-65 in Denver.
The Triton's comeback fell just short after a missed 3-point shot by Tyler McGhie with less than 5 seconds left. The team rallied back from a 41-27 halftime deficit to tie Michigan 63-63 with 3 minutes left but could not get the lead. UCSD outscored Michigan by 11 in the second half (38-27).
