The former Central Elementary School is now the first permanent indoor home for the Fern Street Circus. And what better way to celebrate than their annual neighborhood tour! The "social circus" provides free programs to City Heights youth to be part of a team and have some fun. "It's keeping the kids out on the street and keeping them away from the TV," General Manager Marcela Mercado said. "So it's just being physical, being active, being with other kids and learning circus skills." Not only does Fern Street Circus offer after-school programs at no cost, but now they're taking the show on the road to offer free entertainment in under-served San Diego neighborhoods.
