Friday will be the cooler day of this heat wave but still 12 to 18 degrees above average for inland areas. The coast saw a return of morning fog. This will help keep the beaches cool with afternoon highs in the 70's. High pressure is taking a strong hold over the Western U.S. so temperatures will get even hotter on Sunday and Monday.
