Southbound State Route 163 at Interstate 805 in the Kearny Mesa area was closed Friday morning following a fatal crash overnight. The crash prompted a SigAlert and traffic was being diverted off SB SR-163 to southbound I-805 in the area of the Genesee Ave exit. That area of SR-163 is expected to be closed until further notice. Four people died in the crash that happened around 1:30 a.m. and there were at least two cars involved, according to California Highway Patrol.
