Description
April 24, 1964
At 7:30 the evening of Friday, May 1st, a man with a message will stand on the floor of Balboa Stadium before a throng of people. Evangelist Billy Graham will begin a series of ten appearances in the stadium. He’ll tell the sea of faces before him about the sad state of present-day society and how the road to bolstering that sagging morality is outlined right in the Bible. This will be the culmination of a local campaign which started in San Diego six months ago and has entailed the services of an Army of workers and a cost of 190,000 dollars. David Supersky, William H. Davis, and Reverend Walter Smith are seen here discussing stadium preparation plans. The scope of those preparations has been tremendous. A thousand ushers just be recruited to handle the crowds. The First Presbyterian Church.
