Monday marked the 124th consecutive Memorial Day service at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, the final resting place for more than 120,000 members of the armed forces. Many people gathered for a ceremony and dedication in the morning to honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice. Attendees included gold star families and community members, as well as local leaders paying their respects. The ceremony featured a reading of the Gettysburg Address, the playing of taps and a 21 gun salute.
