Description
July 4, 1967
As usual, thousands of persons found the holiday an ideal time for visiting the San Diego Zoo.
Attendance for the day was 14,265; for the four-day weekend 60,976.
Our cameraman moved in for a slightly different perspective on monkey mesa.
He crawled inside the cage with the Black Lemurs.
These strange-looking animals love to climb high in the trees and then throw rocks at anyone who passes underneath.
The largest lemur is the Ruffed variety, and they wandered around the cage just as though our cameraman belonged in there with them.
There was a rare treat in store for those who have never seen a Koala bear close-up.
This new young fellow was in a caged off area and posed prettily for his picture.
