If you were impacted by the Jan. 22 flooding, you can apply for FEMA assistance by visiting disasterassistance.gov and clicking “Let’s Get Started.” You can also call FEMA’s phone helpline at 1-800-621-3362 daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. FEMA will also be opening a Disaster Recovery Center where San Diego residents can get in-person assistance. Crews may also go door-to-door to help reach impacted residents. The FEMA online application will have three sections: 1. Confirm what damages or expenses you had from the flooding and what assistance you need. 2. Make a new account or sign into your existing one at login.gov. 3. Return to disasterassisstance.gov to complete your application and send it to FEMA.
