Operations at the Pedestrian West crossing in San Ysidro have been temporarily suspended suspended as of Saturday morning at 6 a.m., U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials said. Travelers can monitor border wait times on CBP's website. CBP officials said the agency will open "as many lanes as possible" at the Ped East crossing and Otay Mesa to accommodate the potential increase in crossers at those locations. The closure will allow CBP's Office of Field Operations to help U.S. Border Patrol take migrants into custody, a Thursday statement said.
