Description
From cottage cheese ice cream to cottage cheese pasta, TikTok and Instagram have people craving all sorts of recipes with cottage cheese.
Registered dietitian and nutritionist Patricia Bannan, who is also the author of “From Burnout to Balance,” joins our Laura Cavanaugh to show how to incorporate this retro food revival into your holiday menu.
Cottage cheese is making a comeback with #cottagecheese getting more than 21 million views on TikTok.
Bannan says Clover Sonoma Organic Whole and Low Fat Cottage Cheese is the perfect addition to your holiday recipes.
Clover Sonoma’s Organic Cottage Cheese is a good source of calcium and packs in 14 grams of protein per serving, which is even more protein than Greek yogurt.
“These nutrients can help you manage blood sugar, maintain a healthy weight, build muscle mass and strengthen bones,” said Bannan.
Give your morning pancakes a healthier spin by amping up the protein by adding cottage cheese to your favorite pancake recipe.
Or simply add cottage cheese to your favorite flatbread or cracker, then top it with fruits and veggies on hand. Choosing snacks with protein and fiber is the key to sustaining energy.
And cottage cheese works well in holiday desserts. Replacing cream cheese with cottage cheese makes for a lower calorie, lower fat treat that’s much higher in protein. You won’t even taste the difference.
Clover Sonoma Organic Cottage Cheese is available throughout California at select stores, including Jimbo’s, Frazier Farms and Lazy Acres.
