The San Diego Sheriff's Department is investigating a violent crime that left a San Diego police dog dead early Wednesday morning in Clairemont. San Diego police initially responded to reports of a shooting around 1 a.m. in the 3500 block of Ben Street in the Clairemont area. “We believe that it started on the roadways.
