There are more than 60,000 people in the San Diego region are currently living with Alzheimer’s disease, and more than 160,000 family and friends are providing care. Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month is locally supported by Mission Federal Credit Union.

The Longest Day is the day with the most light – the summer solstice. One June 21, people across the globe will fight the darkness of Alzheimer’s through a fundraising activity of their choice.
The campaign kicks off on June 21 and wraps up at the conclusion of Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month (June 30).
People who donate their gently used shoes at a YMCA location will receive a FREE sub card from Jersey Mike's.
The following locations are participating in The Longest Day's Shoes for Subs fundraiser: Copley-Price, Joe and Mary Mottino, Mission Valley, Toby Wells, Rancho, Ryan, South Bay, Dan McKinney
The Alzheimer’s Association San Diego/Imperial Chapter is also collaborating with the YMCA to host Alzheimer’s awareness programs at YMCA locations in San Diego. Special thanks to the YMCA and Jersey Mike's for their collaboration in the fight to End Alzheimer's.
Alzheimer’s champion Deb Zimmer at the Patio Playhouse production of Shakespeare’s Macbeth at Kit Carson Park in Escondido. All ticket sales of the June 21 show will be donated in honor of Deb’s parents, who both passed away from Alzheimer’s.
You can also visit BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse. BJ’s guests who donate $1 or more to the Alzheimer’s Association at the end of their meal will receive a coupon for a FREE Pizookie® on their next visit
On June 24th, Local Roots Kombucha in Vista is hosting a night of music featuring D.O. Uke and a silent auction in support of the Alzheimer’s Association.
