The City of Poway has voted in favor of a new ordinance that could clear out homeless encampments. City Council members voted in favor of the ordinance that is expected to go into effect in late June. Families in Poway have complained about seeing people live inside their cars and RVs. During Tuesday's meeting council members said they believe a stronger policy is still needed. The ordinance would give the Sheriff's Department and the city the tools to abate unlawful encampments. With the council voting in favor of the ordinance, Poway is one step closer to adopting the law.
