Sesame Place San Diego Celebrates Elmo’s Adopted Puppy Tango with a Pet Adoption Day on February 26 -Through a partnership with Petco Love Foundation, guests will be able to meet rescue animals from local partner shelters and learn about pet adoption -Costume character appearances will be made by Tango and Elmo to celebrate Tango’s arrival to Sesame Place San Diego WHAT: Sesame Place® San Diego, the first theme park on the West Coast based entirely on the award-winning show Sesame Street®, is celebrating the arrival of Elmo’s adopted puppy, Tango, with the park’s first Pet Adoption Day on February 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event is in partnership with Petco and Petco Love Foundation. Guests will be able to meet rescue dogs from local partner shelters in front of the park and learn more about the pet adoption process. There will also be special appearances and character meet-and-greets with Elmo and Tango. Participating animal shelters include: Helen Woodward Animal Center Passion for Pitties San Diego Humane Society Rancho Coastal Humane Society Rescue FENIX Tango made her debut as an all-new meet & greet costume character at Sesame Place San Diego earlier in February. The BRAND-NEW floppy-eared, tail-wagging puppy is available for photo opportunities and can be spotted daily in the Sesame Street Party Parade. The park is celebrating her arrival all month long with in-park events including an Elmo & Tango Scavenger Hunt and Tango’s Treat Seek. Pet Adoption Weekend is free, located in front of the Sesame Place park entrance, and does not require paid admission into Sesame Place to attend the Pet Adoption Weekend.
