September 25, 1986 Carino’s in La Jolla was opened for 15 years when it expanded to this location in Scripps Ranch. The unknown eater Jim Blankinship went with his family undercover. The food was good but the new restaurant was having timing issues. Their pizza took an extra half hour to arrive. The waiter was extra attentive and gave them updates frequently—and even gave them an extra pizza because of the mix-up. This location is closed but the La Jolla location is still in business serving up incredible pizza. 7408 La Jolla Blvd.
