The Aspen Mine Company was a popular bar and restaurant in San Diego in the 1980s. In the college are, it was a regular hangout for San Diego State University students. The dinners came with a trip to the salad bar and choice of potato between $7.95 and $14.95. Unknown Eater said the food did not live up to his expectations.
