October 1, 1980 It was a shortened day for students at Helix High School in La Mesa, California. It wasn't especially hot that day but because one school in the district got out early, the whole Grossmont district followed suit. Some students were clearly happy about it but one football player told Bridget Asaro that it was a pain because he had to go home and come back. Note the Pee Chee folders--so 70s/80s.
