November 11, 1977 San Diego native and Boston Red Sox legend Ted Williams returned to his alma mater Hoover High School to shoot a segment for his television show. He was living in Florida at the time. He caught up with old classmates, talked baseball with Hoover baseball players, and wrote a message for a time capsule to be open in 50 years—that will be in 2027.
