September 21, 1997 Gas prices have thankfully gone down in San Diego and it’s now around 4.69 a gallon. So, it’s hard to imagine people were feeling the pain at the pump in September 1997 when gas prices were around 1.39 a gallon. A woman told Jane Morton that the prices were outrageous. Jane acted as the 90s version of gas buddy telling our viewers where they could buy cheaper gas. I think we can all agree that these prices would be a welcome sight in 2022.
