Description
June 29, 1954
A letter was placed on file today with the City Clerk complaining about the condition of Ocean Beach. The letter, submitted by the Ocean Beach Chamber of Commerce, claims that part of the shoreline “has been sadly neglected, “and urges the city to clean the beach between Niagara and Cape May Avenues. These pictures show the condition of Ocean Beach, which the Chamber points out, is the closest to the center of population. Heavy deposits of ocean kelp have made many sections of the beach unusable, and as bathers pointed out, the kelp and debris tends to drive tourists away.
