Senegal's most famous lake is slowly regaining its iconic pink colour, after three long years of a dull yellow hue brought on by the run-off from heavy rains, likely the result of climate change. Its recovery is delighting visitors, as well as locals. “All the people who work here at the lake, such as salt extractors, artisans, hoteliers, everyone is happy, because this colour will bring everyone back,” says president of the Lake Rose salt operators, Maguette Ndiour.
