Description
An ex-director of an Orting Valley nonprofit pleaded guilty in a Pierce County court months after she was charged with theft for embezzling nearly $200,000.
Rena Kay Thompson, who formerly headed up the Orting Valley Recovery Café, officially pleaded guilty to first-degree theft, first-degree identity theft and money laundering on Jan. 7. She was sentenced to 90 days of home detention, followed up by six months of community custody according to court paperwork filed that same day.
