The Washington Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) announced Saturday that it has suspended intake at two juvenile rehab facilities due to overcrowding and safety concerns. "When too many young people are concentrated in small spaces, it can escalate behaviors and limit the ability for therapeutic rehabilitation," said Secretary Ross Hunter. "This was not sustainable. Our facilities must be safe, therapeutic, and functional." Echo Glen Children's Center in Snoqualmie and Green Hill in Chehalis are the two facilities suspending intakes.
