Multiple agencies are working to contain a wildfire near Darrington, burning between the Skagit and Snohomish county lines, according to Darrington Fire District #24.
The Washington Department of Natural Resources (DNR) said the fire was reported just before 2 p.m. on Saturday. The fire is burning in steep terrain just northeast of Darrington above Dearinger Park Road and is about 10 acres in size.
Darrington Fire District #24 and Oso Fire Department crews arrived on scene to find a fire in rugged terrain about 600 feet above the closest road, according to the fire district.
