A Washington state man was sentenced on Wednesday in a federal court over his actions during the Jan. 6, 2021, breach of the U.S. Capitol. Marc Bru, of Vancouver, was sentenced to six years in prison as well as 36 months of supervised release and a fine and restitution requirement nearly totaling $10,000. Bru was found guilty of two felonies, including obstruction of an official proceeding and civil disorder as well as five misdemeanor charges. Bru did not express remorse over his actions, previously telling a federal judge in July 2023, "You could give me 100 years and I would still do it all over again."
