On Thursday night, “The Boys in the Boat,” a film based on the best-selling book of the same name, premiered in Seattle. The invitation-only movie screening marks a new beginning for host Cinerama, now known as SIFF Cinema Downtown. Evening’s Kim Holcomb sat down with director George Clooney and the book’s author Daniel James Brown on Thursday. The movie follows the true story of eight University of Washington students who, despite all odds as part of the poor and working class, won gold in the 1936 Olympics.
