A former Bellevue resident convicted in a Ponzi scheme was arrested in south Florida after a standoff with agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday. Volodimyr Pigida was convicted in December of 2022 after being found guilty by a jury in the Western District of Washington of 26 felony counts, including conspiracy, wire fraud, mail fraud and bankruptcy fraud. He failed to appear for his Aug. 4 sentencing hearing for his connection to the multi-million dollar scheme and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
