Within a 12-hour period, two people were shot and killed in two separate shootings in Seattle's SODO neighborhood. The shootings happened less than a mile apart and less than two miles from T-Mobile Park, where hundreds of officers are staffed for All-Star Week. The first shooting happened in the parking lot outside the Shell gas station at the corner of 4th Avenue South and South Lander Street. According to the Seattle Police Department, officers responded to a 911 call about a person being shot there just after 11:30 p.m. Friday. Seattle Police data shows that as of May 31, there had been 3 shootings in SODO in 2023. None of them were deadly.
