Seattle police arrested a suspect in connection with a fire that caused minor damages to Catharine Blaine K-8 on Sunday evening. Police received a report from a community member on Monday about a person matching the suspect's description in the area of West Dravus Street in Magnolia. Police arrested the 55-year-old male suspect for reckless burning and booked him into the King County Jail. In a message to parents, Principal Patrick Gray said it was alleged that an individual who was on campus last weekend may have started the fire. Gray said he was concerned that the incident would negatively impact perceptions of unhoused people and urged people to resist rushing to judgment, especially while facts about the fire are limited.
