Balinese Hindus flock to beaches on Indonesia's tourist island to participate in the sacred Melasti purification ritual. The ceremony aims to clean the "stains" of the universe ahead of the Nyepi (Day of Silence).
Participants dressed in white perform the Melasti ritual that includes a procession to the beach where they perform ceremonies involving traditional daggers.
