In France's champagne region, the president of the Independent Winegrowers of Champagne, Christine Sévillano, reacts to the shocking announcement of an additional 20% US tariff on all products imported from the European Union, saying she was "hoping for a de-escalation over the past two weeks, but unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be happening." US President Donald Trump spared almost no nation, hitting friends and foes alike and reserving some of the harshest tariffs for major trade partners, including the European Union and China.
