On the final day of the trial over suspicions of Libyan financing of Nicolas Sarkozy's 2007 presidential campaign, the former French president's lawyer Jean-Michel Darrois declares that "the prosecution is full of contradictions (...), this case is built on sand," after pleading "for nearly five hours." A judge announced that the court will issue a ruling on September 25 on the charges of accepting illegal campaign financing from late Libyan dictator Moamer Kadhafi. SOUNDBITE
