Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez says he is convinced "the world needs the US and China to talk" as trade tensions escalate after a week of back-and-forth tariffs between the two economic giants.
"Trade wars are pointless, nobody wins," Sanchez adds in a statement after meeting Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
