Description
Indigenous communities from all over Brazil gather in the Marajai community, deep in the heart of the Brazilian state of Amazonas, to celebrate the third edition of the Alvaraes Indigenous Intercultural Games and Dances.
The games are a way of drawing attention to the process of demarcating new Indigenous lands undertaken by President Lula during his first term in office.
The event will bring together over 4,000 indigenous participants from 16 villages under the theme of "Protecting Mother Earth". IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
