Description
Four months after pleading guilty to murder and awaiting sentencing while out on bond, Houston police said 26-year-old Austin Collette shot and killed his 21-year-old girlfriend before fatally shooting himself inside a unit at the 1810 Main apartments. "And if I was this young lady's family, I would absolutely be livid," victim's advocate Andy Kahan with Houston Crime Stoppers said. "It's a tragedy, but it was so utterly preventable." According to court records, Collette was charged with a drug-related murder in 2019 but posted multiple bonds even after allegedly violating bond conditions.
