In the summer of 2021, 62-year-old Elsa Mikeska was shot and killed outside her southeast Houston gym. Her murder rocked the community. This week, Mikeska's killer accepted a plea deal. After agreeing to reduce his charge from capital murder to murder, he was tried as an adult and sentenced to life in prison. He will be eligible for parole in 30 years.
