Booth attended the MLB Draft Combine and came away raving about a young lefty from Iowa: Cade Obermueller. The Astros' promotion of pitcher Jake Bloss is a clear win for Dana Brown's tenure as general manager. Bloss, chosen in the 2023 draft from Georgetown, needed less than a year to reach the major leagues; which is quicker than any of the analytics darlings from previous Astros' draft classes.
