Description
After two years in operation, the Peninsula Crossing Safe Rest Village in North Portland is set to close down late this spring to make room for construction of new low-income townhomes. That was always the plan, according to city officials, but the loss of the village still stands out at a time when Mayor Keith Wilson is trying to increase shelter bed capacity – and it has both residents and neighbors apprehensive about what comes next.
