April 2 on The Story: Two of Multnomah County's newest commissioners have floated a challenge to the chair's considerable authority over the agenda of county meetings, following up on some long-held frustrations about meetings being cut short and commissioners not having enough time to prepare for topics of discussion. Commissioners Meghan Moyer and Vince Jones-Dixon this week introduced proposed revisions to board meeting rules in an effort to promote "transparent and balanced government." They said that current board rules are confusing and don't align with the county's stated values.
