Description
Aug. 16 on The Story: The I-5 "Rose Quarter Improvement Project" landed back in the headlines this week, when a coalition of local activist groups sued the Oregon Department of Transportation in an attempt to stop the project — or at least some of it. The project would widen a 1-mile stretch of I-5 and build a cover on top to reconnect the Albina neighborhood. Environmental activists want ODOT to drop the first part and focus only on the second. ODOT would rather do it all, but with the project facing ongoing funding challenges, some creative thinking might be required.
