Description
From track and field to gymnastics and soccer, the northwest is well represented at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Defending gold medalist Ryan Crouser is competing in his third Olympics. Oregon Duck Jaida Ross will compete for the first time on the Olympic stage. Former Oregon Duck Cole Hocker clinched his spot when he set a personal best in the men's 1,500 meters. Woody Kincaid qualified for his second Olympics after placing second in the men's 10,000-meter race at the trials. Oregon State University gymnast Jade Carey is competing alongside Jordan Chiles, who grew up in Vancouver, Washington, on the U.S. women's gymnastics team. In women's basketball, Sabrina Ionescu is on the Team USA roster. Portland Thorns forward Sophia Smith and midfielder Sam Coffey are playing on the 18-player U.S. Olympic women's soccer team. Beaverton's Magda Skarbonkiewicz is part of the U.S. saber fencing team
