Description
In the years since the September 2020 fires, Pacific Power has developed a sophisticated meteorology system meant to keep close tabs on the kinds of weather conditions that can cause fires, giving them a clearer picture of when power shutoffs are needed. The utility's weather team has to generate forecasts for each part of the six states where Pacific Power operates, trying to stay ahead of fire weather conditions.
